Selection of Parliamentary Candidate for the Waveney Constituency
You may be aware that the procedure to select our parliamentary candidate for the next general election is now underway. The CLP elected its Selection Panel on the 5th July and they have appointed our Vice Chair Nicky Mathers as our Procedural Secretary. Nicky will be the central point of contact for the selection process.
Letters will be going out to all eligible members and affiliates early next week providing details of the process however the key dates in the process are:
- 5 th July – Selection process start date
- 5 th to 18 th August – Branch nomination meetings
- 21st August – Postal Vote application closing date
- 5th September – Emergency Postal Vote applications closing date
- 12th September – Deadline for receipt of Postal Votes
- 13th September – Hustings and selection
Only one letter per household will be sent out however if you do not receive your information letter by the 26th July then please email Nicky at: email@example.com
Please note Postal Votes can only be issued for members who are unable to attend and Emergency Postal Votes can only be issued if an issue has arisen after the Postal Vote closing date has passed.
Our CLP will have an all women shortlist so if any eligible local Labour members would like to apply, they use the standard form available from:
